METALLICA: Glendale Show Available For Download
October 23, 2008METALLICA's web site has been updated with the following message:
"Back in 2004 we started this little web site that we're quite proud of, LiveMetallica.com. Each night after the show, our recording engineer turns a few knobs and slides a few faders to bring you a live mix that you can download from the site in MP3 or FLAC (CD quality) format and experience the show you just attended, or check out what we're up to before we come to your town.
"Over the years we've experimented with a few different ways of mixing the show to bring you the best possible sound quality and at the same time post it quickly after the show ends. With the help of some new equipment, we think we've finally found a way to have a great sound AND bring it to you within hours of the show. So with that said, we are psyched to tell you that the opening night of the tour in Phoenix [October 21] is now available for download!
"As long as technology stays on our side, you should be able to find the 'TALLICA show of your choice on the site within about 24 hours after it happens. And you might just want to keep watching those set lists . . . the boys in the band continue to play a different set every night!"
Video footage of METALLICA performing the song "Fight Fire With Fire" at the opening show of its first North American indoor arena tour in almost four years Tuesday night (October 21) at the Jobing Arena in Glendale, Arizona can be viewed at this location. Support at the gig came from THE SWORD and DOWN.

Although METALLICA has played European festivals for the last couple of summers, and a few one-off U.S. shows, the band has not traveled extensively in North America since touring behind 2003's "St. Anger" album.
METALLICA's latest effort, "Death Magnetic", sold 51,000 copies in the United States for the week ending October 19, bringing the album's U.S. sales total to 1.16 million. The CD currently sits at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart.
